REV Upgrade Utility Read Me March 26, 2009

REV operation with IRIS-Net 2.0 requires version B1-3a (or the production version R1-3a) or newer firmware to be running in the REV receivers. The current firmware revision can be seen in the lower left corner of the receiver LCD screen during start up.

The REV Upgrade Utility and the required firmware are included with the IRIS-Net 2.0 installation package. To use the REV Upgrade Utility to change the version of firmware on an REV-S or REV-D receiver, follow these basic steps:

1) Connect just one REV-S or REV-D unit to the UCC-1 adapter and connect the UCC-1 to the PC.

2) Set the CAN address on the REV-S or REV-D to the default 001 002 and the baud rate to the default 250 kBbits/sec. To check and change the settings on the receiver:
a. From the main display screen press MENU twice to go to the Function Menu
b. Scroll DOWN to the CAN-Bus function and press SET
c. CAN addresses and baud rate will be displayed.
d. If change is required press SET and addresses will flash
e. Use UP/DOWN to adjust the addresses to 001 002 and press SET
f. Baud rate will flash, use UP/DOWN to select 250 kBits/sec and press SET
g. With nothing flashing, press MENU to return to the main screen
h. Cycle the power to reboot the receiver and activate new CAN settings.

3) On the PC close IRIS-Net if it is running.

4) Open the REV Upgrade Utility from the IRIS-Net 2.0.0\Tools\REV Update Utility folder.

5) Under the File menu, open the included B1-3a.tlx firmware file included in the IRIS-Net 2.0.0\Firmware\REV folder.

6) Click on the Program Device button.

7) The firmware will automatically be updated and the receiver will re-boot when the update is completed.

8) Repeat the procedure with other REV-S or REV-D until all units are running the new firmware.

9) Do not forget to re-set the receiver CAN addresses to unique settings before using the IRIS-Net program.
